Biochemistry

Biochemistry is the application of chemistry to the study of biological processes at the cellular and molecular level. The biochemical profile is a series of blood tests used to evaluate the functional capacity of several critical organs and systems, such as the liver and kidneys. These tests can be done on an empty stomach or not, and are usually accompanied by a complete blood count (CBC). The human blood contains many metabolites of the body such as ions, enzymes, sugars, lipids and proteins. They play a very important role in maintaining the balance and normal function of the body's internal environment. When the body is in a disease or other abnormal physiological state, the relevant biochemical indicators in the blood will change. Therefore, the testing of biochemical indicators such as electrolytes, total protein, enzymes and blood glucose can help clinical diagnosis, condition monitoring and efficacy assessment of diseases. This provides physicians with a basis for diagnosis and treatment. This is of great clinical importance.
